When little girls my sister and I had a budgie called Jeremy.
He became very tame ... he talked “wake up Jeremy” ... “you’re beautiful aren’t you” on and on. He would help our father cut the beans and toss them in the steamer to cook for our dinner.
Mum even took him in his cage to her violet patch and let him out.
She had absolute control as she had taught him to come and jump on her hand when she range his bell.
He was the pale acqua colour and Helen and I still talk about him.
I’m 81 .... he was a very special part of our lives.
